Made by artisans from the Alpaca Threads Association, made up of Quechua women at 3,500 meters above sea level on the slopes of the Ausangate snow-capped mountain in the Cusco region, who raise their alpacas and sheep, spin the threads, dye them naturally and make our products by hand using ancestral techniques.
We are inspired by the belief of color inherited from generation to generation.
• Red - PUKA: Symbolizes fertility and passion. The color is extracted from the cochineal or native plant.
• Green - QOMIR: Represents nature and Pachamama, the color is extracted from Chilca bushes
• Yellow - QELLO: Represents Inti (sun), the greatest deity of the Inca culture, the color is extracted from the Culli flower
• Orange- NINA PUKA: Represents society and the color is extracted from the moss or beards of the rock
• Purple - KULLI: Represents Andean politics and ideology in the Tahuantinsuyu. The color is extracted from cochineal and purple corn.
• White - YURAQ: Represents time, silver and the moon. It symbolizes intellectual development and technology.
• Blue - ANQAS: Represents Andean culture, the sky and infinity, the color is extracted from the indigo flower.
Take care of your jewelry
For a longer lasting jewelry we recommend the following:
- Avoid humidity.
- Avoid direct contact with chemicals such as perfumes, hair sprays or creams.
- Clean your jewelry only with a cloth without adding any product.
- Store your jewelry separately in each of the bags.
- Do not sleep or bathe with your jewelry.
- We recommend removing your rings before washing your hands.
